Weeks of event promotion and timely reminders from the Collin County Republican Party paid off, leading to a SOLD-OUT crowd. From the get-go, it was clear that the Collin GOP leadership had thought of everything.

Just days before the event, they announced key details like the registration deadline and the addition of keynote speaker, Congressman Brandon Gill. Their proactive communication continued even when a last-minute parking question was answered promptly by the executive director.

Despite the pouring rain, the show went on without a hitch. I was greeted with a smart solution to the weather: plastic bags for my wet umbrella, a small but thoughtful touch that made a big difference. The check-in process was a breeze, decorated with Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan cutouts.

Once inside, the atmosphere was a mix of delicious food and vibrant political engagement. The lunch, sponsored by Don Huffines for Texas Comptroller, included hamburgers, potato salad, and cookies, all served buffet-style.

The live band kept the mood lively with classic country tunes, and a red, white and blue photo backdrop with props.

Over twenty down-ballot candidates took full advantage of the opportunity to connect with voters, handing out everything from campaign literature and business cards to branded t-shirts and candies. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the tables, which were sponsored by various candidates and adorned with patriotic decorations, programs, and literature.

The rally began with two traditions vital to Republican Party values; a solemn prayer led by Senator Angela Paxton, followed by the pledge of allegiance to both the U.S. and Texas flags.

The emcee kept the program moving, offering candidates a chance to introduce themselves and highlight their key accomplishments in a rapid-fire, 30-second segments. It was a great way for both seasoned politicians and first-time candidates to share their vision directly with the crowd.

The anticipation built for the keynote speech by Congressman Brandon Gill, who offered insights into his work in Washington. His speech, along with the inspiring energy from the other special guests like Congressman Keith Self and State Senator Bob Hall, left the audience energized and motivated.
