August 2025 Content Calendar

August is rich with historic milestones that present compelling opportunities to educate, engage, and mobilize your audience. From pivotal moments in Texas history to significant events in the broader story of the United States, the dates highlighted below can add depth and relevance to your messaging throughout the month.

August 2nd and 3rd, 1832 Battle of Nacogdoches

The Battle of Nacogdoches, fought on August 2-3, 1832, was a key event in the early stages of the Texas Revolution. Texan settlers, organized into a militia, clashed with the Mexican garrison, and successfully drove out the Mexican forces, effectively ending their military presence in East Texas.

On social media, you can share an image of the Battle of Nacogdoches Texas Historical Marker or create your own graphic of the Battle of Nacogdoches acknowledging this battle in Texas History.

August 4th U.S. Coast Guard Birthday

The US Coast Guard's birthday is celebrated on August 4th, commemorating the establishment of the Revenue Cutter Service in 1790, which is the predecessor to the Coast Guard. This year, 2025, marks the 235th anniversary of the service.

Share an image or create a graphic of the U.S. Coast Guard and thank active U.S. Coast Guard members for their service in the caption.

August 7th National Purple Heart Day

National Purple Heart Day was established to recognize U.S. service members killed or wounded in action.  It’s a day to remember and reflect on the sacrifices made by these brave men and women.

If you know a service member awarded a Purple Heart, acknowledge him or her on social media.  Whether that is a family member, friend, or a constituent.  Share an image of the Purple Heart Award.

August 17th National Nonprofit Day

National Nonprofit Day recognizes and celebrates the contributions of nonprofit organizations to society, and to encourage support for their missions.

Given the aftermath of the devastating Central Texas floods, highlight on social media nonprofits that have donated resources to Texans impacted.

August 26th Women’s Equality Day

Women’s Equality Day, established in 1973, commemorates the passing of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote.  On social media, share historical photos of women voting or create your own graphic.

Tip for campaigns & organizations:

2026 might feel far off, but now is the time to start announcing events, building your volunteer base, and sending reminders.  Momentum starts early!  Remember to schedule your content ahead of time!
