Richardson Republican Women hosted their monthly meeting with special guest State Senator Bob Hall (District 2) at Spring Creek BBQ in Richardson, Texas.  Spring Creek BBQ has a large private space that can hold more than 70 people where “reserved” signs were displayed.  Richardson Republican Women set up a U.S. flag and Texas flag with a pop-up banner setup outside the private room.  In the private room, there was a table with three sign-in sheets, member-sign-in, guest sign-in, and candidate sign-in sheets.

Richardson Republican Women provided hardcopies of the detail-oriented general meeting agenda with the event date, time, location, list of officers, and upcoming events from Texas Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women.  In addition, they provided handouts of America First Women’s Initiative.

Before Senator Hall’s presentation, RRW did an invocation, pledges of allegiance to the U.S. flag and the Texas flag, and allowed 2026 candidates to give two-minute introductions to their campaign to gain name recognition and support.

Senator Hall provided a “tell it like it is”, “no sugarcoating” recap of the 89th Legislative Session. The first slide was the number of bills filed and passed by the Texas House and Texas Senate.  Notable topics he covered in his slideshow were securing elections, property taxes, and education.  Everyone clapped on the bills passed such as allowing vaccine injury lawsuits (HB 3441). He is very engaging, tells the truth with a mix of humor.  There was time for a Q&A and announcements of upcoming events.  The event concluded with a group picture and everyone gathering together to sing “America the Beautiful”.

The President, Stacey Schieffelin, encouraged attendees to become members, in fact, there were six new members.  This was the largest attended RRW event-70 people, which was very exciting for a grassroots-level organization, everyone clapped and cheered.  One attendee brought 11 guests and the RRW thanked him with a Newt Gingrich book.

Although I do not live in Richardson, I have contacts with Richardson Republican Women.  A few of them were on my 2020 Texas Victory Volunteer Team when I worked as a field organizer. Great to see them again. If you want to attend a Richardson Republican Women, you do not have to live in Richardson, nor is this a women-only event.  Men are allowed to attend as well.  One of the men is the spouse of the fundraising chairwoman.

With the U.S. flag and Texas flag, the pledges of allegiance, and gathering to serenade “America the Beautiful”, affirms the patriotism of Richardson Republican Women.  If you want to learn more about them, please visit their website and follow them on social media.
