I want to give a shoutout to Richardson Republican Women because I appreciate their friendship and hospitality. Some of the board members helped me door-knock in the 2020 Texas Victory Campaign for Senator Cornyn, Rep. Beth Van Duyne, and down-ballot candidates.
About Richardson Republican Women
Richardson Republican Women is a Political Action Committee (PAC) founded in 1958. Richardson Republican Women or RRW is affiliated with the Texas Federation of Republican Women and Dallas County Council of Republican Women. They meet on the third Tuesday of each month featuring guest speakers.
Upon arrival at each meeting are sign-in sheets, and handouts of the meeting agenda. Richardson Republican Women welcomes members, guests and political candidates. You do not have to live in Richardson to be a member or a guest. (Men are invited as well.) Traditionally, the Richardson Republican Women open their meetings with an invocation. The U.S. Flag and Texas Flag are set up where we all participate in the Pledges of Allegiance to the United States and Texas followed by announcements, and sometimes voting.
September’s guest speaker was author and speaker Sharon Bolan of Sharon Bolan Ministries who shared her story of how her life evolved into a ministry career. Her parents’ impactful decisions to legally immigrate to the United States and her father converted from Hinduism to Christianity shaped her values. Sharon pursued a modeling career in her 20s until God had different plans to strengthen her faith during her two-year illness, which ultimately God called her ministry. Sharon has dedicated her life to her ministry for twenty-years.
After Sharon’s testimony, two candidates spoke; Tina Price for HD 112. Tina needed petition signatures from HD 112 residents to appear on the ballot. Darrell Day for CD 32 also stopped by. Last night, I learned that Congressional candidates are not allowed to campaign at PAC events but he did speak his new district map. One attendee spoke on behalf of George Flint for HD 70.
Everyone was discussing Dallas County Republican Party’s decision to switch to paper ballots in the Primary Election. Richardson Republican Women’s call-to-action was to sign up to volunteer.
Richardson Republican Women are an organized and patriotic PAC dedicated to grassroots efforts; from recruiting poll workers to appointing delegates for conventions. If you are seeking fellowship and opportunities to get involved in local politics, join Richardson Republican Women!
